President Hakainde Hichilema scheduled a working visit to Kapiri Mposhi for a day, during which he officially launched the construction of the Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway.

Central Province Minister, Princess Kasune, confirmed that the President’s schedule included a visit to Green Leaf near Manyumbi at approximately 09:30 a.m., where he officially commissioned the construction works on the Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway. Following this, the President proceeded to Mulungushi University, where he engaged with local chiefs discussing their efforts in addressing the ongoing drought and its impacts.

She also added that President Hichilema interacted with the business community, under the umbrella of Kabwe Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He concluded his tour with a meeting and discussion with students from both Mulungushi University and Kwame Nkrumah University and engaging with the young minds and sharing his vision and ideas.

Katuba Member of Parliament, Mwabashike Nkulukusa, has welcomed the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway project, citing its potential to boost economic activities in his constituency. According to Mr. Nkulukusa, the improved road network will facilitate the easy transportation of farm produce from local farmers to markets, while also creating employment opportunities for residents. They are ecstatic about the commencement of the road works. Alex Kapikanya, Chairperson of Makali Roadside Market, also expressed optimism that the dual carriageway will significantly enhance business prospects for the local community.
