Nigerian Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has been nominated for the Bundesliga ‘Rookie of the Season’ award.
The 25-year-old was nominated for the award due to his superb display for Bayer Leverkusen after his summer move from the Belgian club ‘Union Saint-Gilloise‘.
Boniface will battle for the award against Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig, Ian Maatsen of Borussia Dortmund, and Maximillian Beier of Hoffenheim.
The striker had an excellent start in the Bundesliga, thereby winning Rookie of the Month in his very first month in the German League. The forward won the Rookie of the Month award for four consecutive months (August, September, October, and November).
Boniface’s superb start to the season hit a stunner after the attacker was sidelined from January to April due to a muscle injury.
