The crisis for food security and nutrition has captured the attention of policymakers, and a call for funding of about $306 million has been issued to solve the problem in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states (BAY). The situation worsened by the war, weather conditions, and economic related problems is really dangerous for many people especially small children and old people due to their unstable life. Amidst the growing malnutrition pandemics through lack of food intake and over 700,000 child malnutrition cases before the mind, emergency measures need to be implemented.
The intervention will be in a phase of which the first phase will involve food handouts, nutritional support and healthcare services along with an effort to improve agricultural livelihoods through clean water, sanitation, and hygiene projects. This appeal stresses the urgent demand for concerted efforts to hinder the constant suffering and deaths that results, hence addressing the current causes of crises, like conflicts and climatic disasters is very vital.
