The South African national football team, Bafana Bafana, encountered a delay on their way to Uyo, Nigeria, for the highly anticipated FIFA 2026 World Cup group qualifying match against the Nigerian Super Eagles on June 7th.

The team was compelled to communicate this development to their fans and the general public through their official X handle by stating, “Flight delayed, but we are on our way, Nigeria bound.“ This development meant that the players arrived in Port Harcourt after the closure of the Uyo Airport, and we had to spend a night in Port Harcourt instead of proceeding to Uyo immediately.
The match between both the Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana is set to be a top-notch showdown as two of the most successful football nations in Africa clash on June 7th.
