The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s women’s national football team, have commenced their training in Seville, Spain, in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics Games.
The team held their first training session on Sunday, July 9, after arriving in the Spanish city on Friday.

The training session was attended by a few players, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi, Deborah Abiodun, Toni Payne, and Rivers Angels keeper Morufat Ademola. Other players reported to be in camp include goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, Gift Monday, Chidinma Okeke, and Christy Ucheibe.
The team is expected to spend two weeks in Seville before departing for France on July 18. During their stay, they will engage in intense training and friendly matches to prepare for the Olympic Games, which will take place from July 26 to August 11.

Nigeria will face Brazil, Spain, and Japan in the women’s football event, with their first game against Brazil scheduled for July 25 at the Stade Bordeaux. The Super Falcons will then face Spain on July 28 and Japan on July 31.
Head coach Randy Waldrum has named 18 players and four alternates for the tournament, but changes are expected in the coming days following an injury to midfielder Halimatu Ayinde.
Nine-time African champions, the Super Falcons, will be seeking to make a strong impression at the Olympics, having last featured in the women’s football event in 2008.
