MSF says that the conflict in El Fasher, Sudan has resulted in many deaths among the populace and has affected health care facilities.
MSF-assisted South Hospital has been attacked twice within the past few days. This is due to the ongoing conflict between Sudan Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces in the capital of North Darfur, which has led to the destruction of all the three major medical facilities in the city. The violence has led to the closure of the only paediatric hospital in the city and has also affected another maternity hospital, leaving many people in dire need without a place to access crucial medical services.
The conflict has been described by the UN as a humanitarian crisis, with 18 million people in the country going hungry and five million of them at risk of dying from starvation.
