South African midfielder Rayners has vowed that his side, Bafana Bafana, will do everything they can to secure a win or draw against Nigeria in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Uyo.
Rayners, who has been included in the squad, is determined to help his side secure a crucial win or draw to maintain their lead in the qualifying group.
Rayners has been included in the Bafana Bafana squad that will take on the Super Eagles.
The Nigerian Super Eagles squad are desperate to secure their first win in the qualifier series after disappointing draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in November.
A win would see the Super Eagles leapfrog South Africa in the standings, as Bafana Bafana only managed three points in a narrow win over Benin Republic last year.
A draw for South Africa would put them ahead of Nigeria, while a win would make them favourites to win the Mundial ticket. And Rayners, who scored the goals that helped Stellenbosch finish third in the PSL and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup, made South Africa’s aim clear ahead of the decisive encounter: win or draw, nothing more.
