The Federal Government and Organized Labour have reached a breakthrough in their negotiations, agreeing to work towards a new national minimum wage exceeding N60,000.
A tripartite committee will convene daily for the next week to finalize the figure. Labour leaders will consult with their members on Tuesday to decide whether to suspend the ongoing nationwide strike, following the government’s commitment to a higher minimum wage.
The agreement also ensures that workers who participated in the strike will not face reprisals.
