Orange Ventures and Digital Africa have agreed to use their funds to invest in Orange Digital Centres-based startups in Africa and the Middle East region.
Orange Digital Centre is an ecosystem used in 17 African and Middle Eastern countries and eight European countries, with a set of free applicable programs for everyone, such as opening digital training for young people, providing spaces and financial support to accelerate startups, as well as investing in project leaders.
Ideally located in the early-stage startup, its goal is to foster entrepreneurship and generate innovation within the region. Digital Africa also currently manages Fuzé investment facility, through which startups based in French-speaking African countries may submit a request to get up to EUR50,000 (approximately US$54,000) of equity investments from Digital Africa to support an early-stage startup.
The management partner of Orange Ventures, Fayçal Adlouni and the CEO of Digital Africa, Grégoire de Padirac sealed a partnership deal at Vivatech to scale up the support of Orange Digital Centres to the innovative African startups.
“The Orange Group is fully committed to nurturing the future champions of the technology scene in Africa and the Middle East. This arrangement, involving Orange Middle East and Africa, Orange Ventures and Digital Africa will collectively enable us to concentrate our resources to create an environment conducive to the success of startups in Africa and the Middle East,” Adlouni stated.
Interested startups in this new initiative are encouraged to visit the Orange Ventures website, the Orange Digital Centre website, and the Digital Africa website.
