A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when a helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) crashed in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The community, Tami village, is close to the NAF Air Training Centre, Mando, and the 401 Flying School in the Igabi Local Government Area.
Although the NAF has yet to release an official statement, eyewitnesses claim that the helicopter crashed around 5:00 a.m. on Monday, causing widespread alarm among residents. Fortunately, the pilot, who was the only one on board, survived the crash by executing emergency procedures and escaping through the emergency exit.

Locals reported hearing a loud sound and rushed to the scene, where they found the pilot, who had sustained minimal injuries. The helicopter was on a routine operational flight when it experienced technical difficulties, leading to the crash.
Following the incident, a team of NAF personnel from the Air Training Centre and the 401 Flying School cordoned off the area to secure it for emergency rescue operations and investigate the cause of the crash. The NAF has since confirmed that the aircraft that crashed was an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and not a helicopter as earlier reported.
