MTN Uganda has unveiled their five-in-one solutions package aimed at the SMEs operating at Nakawa Market.
This complete package is anticipated to manage some important issues affecting merchants, for instance, accounting, stock funding, and sales.
This was informed by the realization that SMEs make up over 70% of the economy in Uganda, and hence the intervention by MTN sought to tune its efforts to the improvement of the business operations of SMEs.
Everyone at Nakawa Market smiles as residents and SME operating mobile money users embrace MTN’s five-in-one package for digital payments, utilities payments, airtime sale, loans and for business integration.

Richard Yego, the Managing Director of MTN Mobile Money Uganda Limited affirmed the five critical areas which include receipt of payments, payment of utilities and suppliers, commissioned airtime and bundle sales, access to credit, and bank linkages.
“We are very excited this morning to be at Nakawa Market to launch a very exciting product with MTN Business. This is a comprehensive bouquet of solutions, five in one for our merchant community, targeting the SME sector,” said Yego.
“This aims to address critical challenges faced by merchants, such as bookkeeping, stock financing, and sales management. Recognizing that SMEs contribute over 70% to Uganda’s economy, fostering their business growth and sustainability,”
The launch is the first event of massive Information and Marketing campaign, which targets all merchants in the country on how to take advantage of these services.
“We are going across the country, socializing this, doing many divisions, and being in the faces of our merchants. We are going to encourage them, train them, and sensitize them on why they should deal with their businesses in this new way,” Yego said.
This is not just a mere promotion; instead, it is a new product offering that has been adopted by MTN with an aim of helping the growth of SMEs in Uganda.
