The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Nigeria plc, Mrs. Ola William, has dismissed the rumour claiming that Microsoft was wrapping up to leave the country.
William stated this when the Director General of National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi paid a courtesy visit to some ICT companies in Lagos, adding that the company has remained focused on the sustainable growth of the ICT sector in Nigeria.

The Microsoft boss disclosed that NOTAP had performed marvellously well in the promotion of the growth of the ICT sector in the country through fast tracking.
Amadiobi told the gathering that companies that refused to forward their technology transfer agreements to NOTAP for scrutiny and registration would in the near future attract stringent consequences, including prosecution.
“Available records show that a greater percentage of companies in Nigeria operate on imported technologies which run into millions of dollars without NOTAP registration necessitated by Law, thereby short-changing the Nigerian economy”, she said.
