Asamoah Gyan paid a courtesy visit to President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe at the state house, after which he presented him with an autographed Number 3 Black Stars jersey.
President Mnangagwa, after the courtesy visit by Asamoah Gyan, took to his X handle, formerly known as Twitter:
“It was an honour to receive Asamoah Gyan at State House today. His remarkable career and leadership on the field have inspired millions across Africa. We discussed the power of sports in uniting Nations and promoting youth development.”
Gyan is in Zimbabwe with a globally acclaimed health technology company, Trek Secure. The team from Trek Secure visited President Mnangagwa on the 15th of May, with Gyan seizing the opportunity to show his admiration for Zimbabwe’s leader. Trek secure team has been holding a series of meetings with officials of Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health and Child Welfare since they arrived in the country last weekend
The Dubai-based Health technology company is on working on the modalities to help trek and effectively deal with health pandemics, after securing the tender to do so from the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The skipper who represented the Black Stars of Ghana both at continental and global football competitions, is the ambassador for the health technology company.
Douglas Mombeshora, the Minister of Health and Child Welfare, told local News That Gyan expressed his desire to meet President Mnangagwa and was happy to see it fulfilled.
“Gyan expressed his wish to meet President Mnangagwa and he presented his signed Ghana national team jersey to him.” Mombeshora continued, “The legendary footballer expressed his gratitude after fulfilling his wish”.
He also assured that Trek Secure team is in Zimbabwe to put systems in place that will help to deal with health pandemics effectively and efficiently using technology.
