The Consumer Council of Zimbabwe (CCZ) has called for the recall of the 50ml single-use neutralizing shampoo which is part of the Dark and Lovely Moisture Plus kits.
CCZ director and chief executive, Rosemary Mpofu, said in a statement that the company recalled the product after receiving a notification from Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) citing risks that the consumption of the shampoo posed.
Mpofu said that the statement to consumers and traders explains the recall of the product and encourages the buyers to return the products to their original selling centres with an option for a refund.

“We advise any retailers that still have the same products in stock to stop selling them to unsuspecting consumers,” she said.
Among the impacted countries is Zimbabwe, and the consumers are urged to avoid buying the products or report any trader who is still selling the products.
Mpofu emphasized the recall of the products is to avoid any negative impacts on the consumers.
The CCZ is asking the public to act on the recall notice and return the Dark and Lovely Moisture Plus kits with the 50ml single-use neutralizing shampoo.
