Two tourism sites have been unveiled in the Busoga Region. They are Kikalu Rock Hill and Namakoko Landing Site, both located in Nangonde Sub County.
They were unveiled by Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, and Persis Namuganza, State Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development. This boosts the number of tourism spots to 38, dispersed across different areas of Busoga.

Locals think the location has Locals feel the spot is spiritually significant, with many praying for favours, children, and riches.
Kadaga, who is also the patron of tourism in Busoga Kingdom, said that communities neighbouring the new sites should have a strategic business plan and also rely on social media tools like TikTok to market the uniqueness of the sites to attract tourists.
Namuganza rallied communities to focus on improving the locally available resources to accommodate tourists as they await government support to improve the infrastructure across the different tourism sites in Busoga.

“Most of these tourism sites are located far away from urban areas, and at times tourists are attracted to these huts within our communities; therefore, it is a matter of improving sanitation to ensure decency whenever such guests throng our areas to ease their urge of returning for future visits,” according to Namuganza.
Hellen Namutamba, Busoga’s tourism minister, has pushed communities to use tourism to boost their economies.
