Startups based in Africa can participate in the Innovate2PREVENT Innovation Contest, which aims at engaging and uniting innovators from all over the world to come up with ideas that address circular business barriers.
Administered by Yunus Environment Hub for the PREVENT Waste Alliance, Innovate2PREVENT enables inventors, environmentalists, and visionaries to promote their ideas for a circular economy targeting selected countries of the German Development Cooperation and aligned with just transition principles.

It is looking for three forms of solution – solutions that help to prolong the lifetime of products, close the loops of resources, or enhance resource utilization through reuse, refurbishment, and repair of electric and electronic equipment; solutions that relate to the plastics value chain and that help to reduce the usage and management of single-use plastics; and solutions that promote circularity by incorporating digital solutions and standardized data models across the product life cycle stages and value chains.
The deadline for application is July 5th.
