With the coming summer window, the deals are getting hot. Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is being targeted to sign for two of the most elite clubs in the Premier League. His international form for Nigeria, plus his goalscoring record, continues to attract interest from the top clubs in Europe.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, both United and Arsenal had interest in signing Osimhen, who reportedly has a release clause worth £110 million. The Italian team Napoli, however, may be willing to sell him for a lesser financial deal of about £85 million, tipping the balance towards the reach of Premier League sides.
Fabrizio Romano has suggested that clubs in England are ‘one to watch’ in the race for Osimhen, particularly Manchester United and Arsenal.
“In this moment of the market, keep an eye also on England, because Osimhen could be a big possibility. If Napoli changes the price of Victor Osimhen, there could be a possibility for other clubs to enter,” he wrote.
“For example, Manchester United are looking for a striker. We know about Joshua Zirkzee and this battle with Milan, but Arsenal are also looking for a striker. Will they go for a striker? Will they go for a winger? What do they decide to do in terms of plan? Keep an eye on many clubs for Victor Osimhen,” he added.
Osimhen’s interest in playing in the Premier League is well-known, and he has previously stated that he would be open to a move to England in the future.
With Napoli failing to qualify for the Champions League, the striker may be looking for a new challenge, and the Premier League could be the perfect destination.
Manchester United are desperate for a striker because Anthony Martial has abandoned the club, with Rasmus Hojlund being the only recognized senior option. The Red Devils have been linked with a few strikers, one of which is Joshua Zirkzee, but what would set Osimhen apart from others in this is his goalscoring record and experience in one of the top leagues.

On the other side, Arsenal have been playing Kai Havertz as a striker, but the German is not an out-and-out striker. The Gunners have been searching for another striker to challenge Havertz, and the pace as well as the goalscoring instincts of Osimhen would certainly add a new dimension to their attack.
Although Napoli’s asking price is still the major obstacle, both United and Arsenal have the means to meet such a demand.
