Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, the Member of Parliament representing Nyendo-Mukungwe, has urged change-seeking forces in Uganda to engage in honest dialogue to facilitate a peaceful transition of power in the country. Speaking at a thanksgiving mass at Kitovu Sports Arena in Masaka City on Friday, Mpuuga emphasized the need for leaders to prioritize peaceful transition over bitter confrontations.
Mpuuga expressed his commitment to building cohesion among opposition political parties, noting that Uganda has been independent for over 60 years, yet political players still regard each other as enemies. He emphasized the need to define and unite against their differences for the country’s progress.
Mpuuga cautioned against pride, selfishness, and confrontations, which he believes hinder efforts towards political transition. He also stressed the importance of reconciling and building mutual respect within the NUP and reflecting on the opinions of all concerned stakeholders to collectively define the country’s future.
