Lagos State Science, Research & Innovation Council (LASRIC) has been provided with NGN1 billion (US$660,000) to support local technology-based enterprises.
The new LASRIC fund will help to encourage innovation and research activities, and also help Lagos to become a place for many new potentially successful startups.

According to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the LASRIC Council has assembled with the best team and with the understanding of repositioning the educational capacity of the state.
“We firmly believe that the evaluation needed for this economy will require significant investment in science, innovation, and technology. Therefore, at the reconstruction of this body today, I want to emphasize the key areas that we should focus on,” he said.
