A 69-year-old American was charged with assault after a video that went viral captured him assaulting a hotel worker, using racial slurs, and vowing to kill him.
Jimmy L. Taylor was arrested after a video went viral of him in an angry rant, and he was charged with assault and malicious damage on Thursday, 16 August 2018, at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala.
The footage shows Taylor charging at the receptionist and saying: “You hate Jesus. You hate yourself. You hate me. You disgraced Jesus. Huh?” As the police wanted to arrest him, Taylor spat on the police then acted rowdy, uncontrollable and tried to disarm policemen.

The accused who was being questioned admitted that he was the one who attacked the victim. He further insisted that he had a disease which made him stressed, an aspect that evoked the rampage in attacking the hotel staff.
Taylor, identifying himself as a missionary and a military veteran, was released from custody, on non-cash bail, because of poor health.
