Cote d’Ivoire has been announced as the host nation for the WAFU Women’s Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 10th to 23rd, 2024.
The tournament will be used to determine qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
From WAFU-B, seven of the of the best teams will be competing in Cote d’Ivoire, knowing that only one team is going to have the ticket to fight for their gun through the competition. The teams that have registered to take part in the event are Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Niger Republic, Nigeria, and Togo.
Nigeria’s representative, Edo Queens, is expected to feature in the competition, having qualified for the tournament after winning the Nigeria women’s football league for the first time in the last month. On the other side, Ghana’s Darkoa Ampem team, which earned the zone ticket to the last edition after beating Delta Queens in the final, will be making their appearance again.

Although the format of the competition is still unknown, it will feature the WAFU women’s championship, where the teams that will be displaying their prowess include some of the best female football talents found in the West African region.
