Abia State governor, Alex Otti has revealed that his office will soon carry out a medical city project in the state for the improvement of the health sector and creation of job opportunities.
At a monthly interaction for the month of May tagged “Governor Otti Speaks to Abians”, Dr Otti stated his intentions at the Government House, Umuahia, the state capital.
He said: “It will take us time to complete. In another two or three years, it will be completed. When we do, it will attract and discourage health tourism abroad.”
Though the plans or the location of the said project have remained undisclosed, the governor assured that the project would possess the same facilities found abroad, and would be readily available at the city.
Going further, Dr Otti stated that both indigenes and non-indigenes of the state, either at home and in the diaspora, have expressed their support for the proposed project.
He concluded, highlighting that the one-year administration has manned the project with professionals.
